Fiesta Resort Guam refurbishment and rebranding brought forward to early 2021

Fiesta Resort Guam will accelerate its refurbishment plans and rebrand as Crowne Plaza Resort Guam by May 2021.

The fully refreshed and rebranded Crowne Plaza Resort Guam will reopen with 322 fully renovated rooms, a Club Lounge, fully refurbished public areas, and a refreshed focus on its garden, with two new swimming pools as the main feature.

And, as the world adjusts to new travel norms and expectations, Crowne Plaza Resort Guam will enhance the experience for its hotel guests by redefining cleanliness and supporting guests’ personal wellbeing throughout their stay. Underpinned by the IHG Clean Promise, Crowne Plaza Resort Guam will be committed to high levels of cleanliness, which means clean, well maintained, clutter free rooms that meet its high standards.

Thomas Mayrhofer, General Manager at Fiesta Resort Guam, said, “While we are naturally disappointed that the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak has meant that we’ve had to temporarily close Fiesta Resort Guam to guests for a while, we have decided to take the opportunity to bring our renovation project forward. This will mean we will be able to complete the refurbishment without needing to disrupt guests, colleagues or our community. We are delighted that Asia Pacific Hotels Inc put their trust in IHG to manage this hotel and rebrand it as a Crowne Plaza, and we look forward to growing the resort’s footprint with our world-class Crowne Plaza brand from early 2021.”

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) announced its entry into Micronesia in October 2019, and now manages Fiesta Resort Guam and Fiesta Resort Saipan, following the signing of management agreements with Asia Pacific Hotels Inc. Both resorts will undergo refurbishments and re-flag under IHG’s Crowne Plaza brand.

Jennifer Tan Su, EVP of Asia Pacific Hotels Inc, commented, “When we signed the agreement with IHG in October no one could have foreseen that we would soon be dealing with a global pandemic but, together, we are moving quickly and making the most of the situation by expediting our exciting renovation plans. Guam is a much-loved destination, and we know that travelers will be back in force as soon as they can, and we know that a world-renowned brand like Crowne Plaza will help attract those travelers from around the world and deliver an amazing hospitality experience.”

“I’d like to thank the local community for its years of support, and I can assure everyone that we that we look forward to welcoming them back in 2021.”

Crowne Plaza Resort Guam will join the brand in its most exciting era of transformation, as Crowne Plaza rolls-out its global flagship strategy. The first six flagship hotels have started to open across Europe, the US and China, illustrating the new hallmark design innovation and brand standards across technology, public spaces (the ‘Plaza Workspace’), guest rooms, food & beverage and more. The new design is inspired by the continued guest demand for flexible spaces, offering seamless transition between business and downtime for the modern traveller.
